The company’s beginnings may be traced back to 2020, when Lucky Mazibuko began nighttime street patrols in Umlazi. The men did not want to leave their wives and children alone at night to do neighborhood watch, so Lucky offered to take their shifts for a fee. Later, he hired his father’s car for nighttime use and hired acquaintances to fill in for him. That was the beginning of Mgabhi Security.

Lucky began with the guarding division of the company, and later purchased roughly three other smaller security companies (under different names), but decided to continue with Mgabhi Security.

He decided to diversify Mgabhi Security around a year ago, which is when the cleaning, gardening, and maintenance departments were established. The company is still developing and rapidly expanding to provide a one-stop shop service to existing and new clientele.

Mgabhi Security has made significant investments in technology over the last year, the outcome of which is our new control room and off-site monitoring facilities.
